This process leads to improved or organoleptic and physical properties (less fishy odor, and optimal viscosity for encapsulation).

Found in Antarctic krill (Euphausia Superba) in the Southern Antarctic Ocean, Krill are pelagic crustaceans which consume zooplankton and phytoplankton and in turn, provide a major food source for bony fish and Baleen whales.

Omega-3 fatty acids might be good for our health, but for them to actually be beneficial for us and reach target organs, they need to be absorbed by the blood first. Since our KrillCode™ krill oil is phospholipid omega-3 based, it gets absorbed in blood much faster.

All of our KrillCode™ krill oil products have the “Friend of the Sea” seal on them since they are sourced from a sustainable fishery. This lets consumers know that the products do not harm the ecosystem in any way. The harvesting of the Antarctic krill is closely monitored by the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR), and all of the krill biomass used by us is supplied from facilities and vessels monitored by CCAMLR.
